The 2022 Dodge Ram 1500 comes with two different bed size options: a 5.7-foot bed and a 6.4-foot bed.
Choosing the right truck bed size can make all the difference, especially if you plan to regularly use your Ram 1500 to haul things around. With two different lengths available, it’s important to consider your options carefully before making a decision.

First, let’s take a look at the capacity of each of your truck bed options:
The standard 5.7-foot (67.4-inch) bed has a cargo capacity of 53.9 cubic feet. It measures 21.4 inches deep and 66.4 inches wide at its widest. Between the wheelhouses (ie, at its most narrow point), the bed is 51 inches wide.
The optional 6.4-foot (76.3-inch) bed has a cargo capacity of 61.5 cubic feet. It measures just slightly deeper at 21.5 inches, but it has the same width measurements as the standard 5.7-foot bed.
Keep in mind, though, that additional space doesn’t necessarily mean additional power. Regardless of your truck’s bed size, the highest payload available for the 2022 Ram 1500 is just over 2,000 pounds, so you won’t be able to haul anything heavier than that even if you can fit it in your Ram 1500 truck bed.
If you run out of storage space in your truck bed, don’t forget that the Ram 1500 offers interior storage, too! You can purchase this truck in five- or six-seat configurations, with extra storage available in the five-seater model under the armrest.
