How to use Apple CarPlay on a 2022 Jeep Compass

Since the 2022 Jeep Compass has a Uconnect® 5 system, you can access Apple CarPlay directly over Wi-Fi or by using the USB port. Here’s how to do it.

First, make sure that both Siri and CarPlay are enabled on your iPhone. You must have a device with an operating system newer than iOS 7.1. To do this, go to Settings → Screen Time → Content & Privacy Restrictions → Allowed Apps and make sure that both CarPlay and Siri are enabled.

CarPlay should be enabled on your Compass as well. Select Apps → Projection manager and check the box next to “Smartphone Device Mirroring.”

Setting up CarPlay

Since the 2022 Compass supports both USB and wireless connectivity, if you connect your phone with a USB you will get an alert asking you if you want to connect wirelessly the next time you go for a drive.

To connect via Bluetooth, press the phone button and follow the prompts. If CarPlay isn’t enabled, the system will ask if you want to use it. When connected, the phone icon will change to CarPlay and you’ll be free to use your iPhone. Check your owner’s manual for more detailed instructions.
