Step 1: Park your car in a safe spot and turn the engine off.

Step 2: Pop the hood and locate the car's fuse box. It's usually located near the battery and looks like a small black plastic container. Check your vehicle owner's manual if you're unsure of the location.

Step 3: Find and carefully remove the HVAC fuse. Either your owner's manual or the inside of the fuse box's lid should contain a diagram of the fuses. Next, locate the HVAC fuse and gently pull it up and out of the box.

Step 4: Wait at least 10 seconds before carefully reinstalling the fuse. While you wait, visually inspect the fuse for any damage and to ensure it's not blown. Be very gentle when reconnecting the fuse—a fuse puller or pair of flat-nose pliers can help with this step.

Step 5: Turn the car on, and don't touch any buttons or controls. You must wait at least 40 seconds for the climate control system to calibrate itself.
