As a heavy-duty truck that’s often considered a “workhorse,” you’ll likely be looking to modify your Ram depending on how you plan to use it. One of the easiest ways to upgrade your Ram without having to do much work is with your wheels.

2020 Ram 3500 bolt pattern

Finding your
Ram bolt pattern
is relatively easy as all Ram 3500s from 2012 to the present have the same pattern of 8x6.5. Since this likely doesn’t explain much, we’ll breakdown the measurement a bit more:
# of bolts x diameter of the circle they form
So, for an 8x6.5 bolt pattern, eight bolts are forming a 6.5 diameter circle.
While knowing your bolt pattern is important, you’ll also need a few other wheel specifications before you can upgrade your wheels. The additional information you’ll need is your OEM wheel size, stud size, offset, center bore, and wheel tightening torque.
  • Factory wheel size: 17”-18”, 20”
  • Stud size: M14x1.5
  • Offset: -25 to 25mm
  • Center bore: 120.9mm
  • Wheel tightening torque: 190 Nm

How to measure your Ram’s bolt pattern

With the above information, you can upgrade your wheels, but it never hurts to know how to DIY it.
You’ll first want to get a measuring tape or ruler. Then, pick one of the eight bolts, and measure from the outer edge of the lug to the center of the opposite bolt. This measurement will be your diameter, so together with the number of bolts, you have your bolt pattern!
