How to reset the engine oil maintenance light on a 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander

Changing the oil in your 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander doesn’t have to be a matter of guesswork—in most cases, an oil maintenance light will illuminate on your car’s dashboard when it’s time to change the oil.
While this maintenance light takes some of the burden of oil maintenance off your shoulders, it needs to be manually reset after each oil change—otherwise, it may remain on and incorrectly predict future maintenance needs.
To reset the oil life light after changing the oil in your 2019 Outlander, follow these steps:
  • Start by turning your ignition to the “ON” position without starting the vehicle
  • Next, press and hold the menu button located on the left-hand side of your steering wheel
  • On the driver’s display between your instrument clusters, a wrench icon (indicating maintenance scheduling) should begin blinking
  • Release the menu button, then press it once more to clear the maintenance schedule
  • Press the menu button a third time to confirm

That’s why it’s a good idea to learn how to change your engine oil and oil filter at home—you can always follow the steps laid out in your owner’s manual for guidance!
