The engine oil warning light in a 2017 Outlander is, thankfully, very easy to reset. You’ll use the buttons beside your steering wheel to navigate through the multi-information display on your instrument cluster. Here are the steps you’ll need to follow:
- Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position
- Tap the INFO button on the left side of the instrument cluster to access the "Service Reminder" screen
- Hold the INFO button down for two seconds, or until the Tool Icon appears and begins to flash
- While the icon is flashing, press the INFO button lightly. The display will change from "_ _ _" to "Clear."
- The time until the next service will then be displayed, confirming that the reset was successful
