No worries! All you have to do is reset the 2016 Ford Escape’s oil light. Here’s how to do it:

Close all the doors and insert the key into the ignition. Leave it in the OFF position.

Press and hold down both the gas and brake pedals for 3 seconds. This will turn your vehicle on without starting the engine.

Take a look at your dashboard screen which should read “_Service: Oil reset in prog.” Keep your feet pressed on the pedals. The oil reset will take 20 seconds.

Once the screen says “_Service: Oil reset complete”, release the pedals and remove the key.

And that’s it! The next time you need an oil change, your oil light will illuminate and you can follow the reset instructions after you’ve serviced your oil.
