background
To replace the 2014 Toyota RAV4's radio, remove the front dashboard trim panel, uninstall the original system, and install a new aftermarket model.
The 2014 Toyota RAV4 received high marks for utility, overall usefulness, fuel efficiency, comfort, quality, and value—so it's no surprise that it's one of Toyota's most beloved models. Where it doesn’t excel as much, though, is its decent-to-meh factory sound system, which is why upgrading the RAV4's stereo will make those endless miles much more bearable.

How to change the radio on a 2014 Toyota RAV4

You can easily change the radio in your 2014 Toyota RAV4 without paying a mechanic or car audio expert.
Before you start, make sure no treasured
CDs are in the player
, put the vehicle in park, and disconnect the negative battery cable to eliminate the possibility of an electrical short.
Then just follow the steps below!
  1. At the driver's side, pry off the dash trim strip using a
    panel tool
, setting the panel aside once removed.
  2. Pull out the clock/hazard switch assembly to loosen the retaining clips, putting the assembly on the dashboard. Put a clean shop cloth underneath it to protect the dashboard.
  3. Pry out the two vents on either side of the receiver, undoing the four clips holding them in place.
  4. Remove the four 10mm screws that hold the receiver to the dash.
  5. Disconnect the harnesses and take the receiver out.
And you should be good to go! You can simply install your new radio the same way you took it out. Unfortunately, some aftermarket stereos call for drilling into your car's metal before installation. Bring the Toyota to an expert if that's the case so they can do the job right.
