background
A 2014 Jeep Wrangler has a bolt pattern of  5x4.5 or “5 on 5,” which indicates that each wheel has five bolts and create a circle that is five inches in diameter.
Jeeps are fun to drive and can handle it all. If you are the adventurous type and like to take your Jeep off-roading, consider changing your wheels to a set created especially for rugged terrain. To make the switch, though, you will need to know your Jeep’s bolt pattern.

2014 Jeep Wrangler bolt pattern

Your 2014 Jeep Wrangler’s bolt (or lug) pattern—and any Wrangler between 2007 and 2018—is 5x5, or 5 on 5. If you aren’t familiar with
Jeep bolt patterns
, every bolt/lug pattern can be expressed as:
# of bolts x diameter of the circle they form
So a 5x5 or 5 on 5 lug pattern means that your Jeep’s wheel had five lugs each. Each wheel’s lug pattern is set in a circle with a five-inch diameter.
Before getting your new off-roading tires, you will need a few more measurements. You will need to know your Jeep’s center bore measurement, wheel offset, stud size, and torque specifications:
  • Factory wheel size: 16” to 18”
  • Stud size:1/2" x 20 (1/2 inch stud with 20 threads per inch)
  • Offset: M-12 to 38 mm
  • Center bore: 71.5 mm
  • Wheel tightening torque: 130 Nm

How to measure your Jeep Wrangler’s bolt pattern

All the measurements listed above will allow you to change your wheels, but it never hurts to check the measurements yourself. Here is how you can measure your
Jeep'
s bolt pattern.
First, grab a measuring tape or ruler, whatever you have handy. Select a bolt (it doesn’t matter which one) and measure from the outer edge of the lug hole to the center of the opposite bolt. Since there are an uneven number of bolts, you can’t measure straight across. Measure to the center of either bolt.
Put the diameter together with the number of bolts, and you’ve discovered your bolt pattern!

How to optimize your Jeep’s insurance coverage

Selecting off-road rims is a great way to update the style of your vehicle and customize your driving experience. Don’t forget, though—any modifications need to be accounted for in your
car insurance
policy, or their value won’t be accounted for in the event of an accident.
