Where can I find my Safe Auto insurance ID card?
I just cleaned out my Toyota Prius and I may have gone a little too ham in the glove box. I can’t find my insurance ID anywhere, so I think I need to get a new one. Where can I find my Safe Auto insurance ID card?

Kudos to you for cleaning out your Prius! Your Safe Auto insurance ID card can be found through a link in the SafeAuto mobile app. If you want to print a new one out, you can request an ID card to be sent to you via email under “Manage Policy” on your online account or by calling 1-800-723-3288.
While you’re signed into the SafeAuto app or your online account, here are a few other things you can do:
- Update contact info
- Review your policy
- Make changes to your policy
- Pay your bill
- View claim details (only on the mobile app)
- Communicate with a customer service rep (only on the mobile app)
If you have the SafeAuto app, you may be able to use a
digital copy of your insurance ID card
as proof of insurance in most states. However, it’s always a good idea to keep a print-out on hand in your vehicle just in case your phone dies or you’re too flustered to figure the app out while law enforcement is looking on. It can also be easier to exchange insurance details with a hard copy if you’re ever in an accident. In any case, you’ll want to make sure you get some sort of
proof of car insurance
back in your Prius as soon as you can. While you’re technically not driving without insurance
, you can still get ticketed as such—which could increase your Toyota Prius insurance costs
