The oil change indicator system on your 2014 Chrysler 300 is a handy reminder for getting your oil changes as scheduled. However, the message will continue to pop up every time you start the car if you don’t reset the indicator.
If you’re not sure how to reset the oil change reminder, you’re on the right page. We’ll run you through the steps to reset the service light on your
Chrysler
300. Let’s get started!

How to reset the engine oil maintenance light on a 2014 Chrysler 300

The Chrysler 300 oil change indicator system is a handy feature that helps you keep up with your recommended
maintenance schedule
. However, it will require a manual reset after each service to track the correct interval between the oil changes.
While it is a small inconvenience, resetting the engine oil life on a 2014 Chrysler 300 is quick and easy. Just follow the steps below:
  • Push the ENGINE START/STOP button until you are in the ON/RUN position—do not step on the brake pedal or start the engine!
  • Step on the accelerator pedal and slowly depress three times within 10 seconds
  • Push the ENGINE START/STOP once to return the ignition to the OFF/LOCK position—again, do not step on the brake pedal
  • Check if the indicator has been reset by pressing the brake pedal and starting the car. The “Oil Change Due” message should no longer be showing
If the steps are done incorrectly, the indicator message will continue to show up. This means that the indicator system has not been reset. You will have to repeat the same steps to turn the indicator off and reset the system.

How often does a 2014 Chrysler 300 need an oil change?

Chrysler recommends using conventional motor oil and scheduling an oil change every 3,000 to 5,000 miles. Alternatively, you can also use synthetic motor oil with the same viscosity and change the oil every 7,500 to 10,000 miles. You should not let your oil change interval exceed 10,000 miles or 12 months, whichever comes first.
Keeping up with your oil service will help your 300 run its best longer—failing to change your oil can cause serious damage to your engine. In other words, this maintenance item is essential for Chrysler 300 owners.
If you want to save on oil change costs, you can replace your oil and oil filter at home. Be sure to follow the instructions in your
owner’s manual
to ensure that the process is completed properly with the correct oil. This will save you around $100—just don’t forget to reset the oil change indicator when you are done.
However, if the manual reset is unsuccessful, or another service is also due, you will need to bring your 300 to an auto repair shop or Chrysler dealership. A licensed technician can then inspect and service your car as needed.

This app is great, but the customer service is even better! Not to mention convenient! My husband and I got the lowest rate (much lower than the rates I was finding online through my own searches), quickly, and pretty much all through text message! Thank you so much for a hassle free experience👍
