Next, run your engine for about five minutes or until it reaches its average operating temperature. You can then shut off the engine, pop the hood, and follow these steps:

Remove the oil drain bolt and washer from under the engine and drain the old oil into your drain pan

Take out the old

and let the oil continue to drain

Put in the new filter

Replace the oil drain bolt with a new washer and tighten it to 29 lb-ft

Fill the engine with the new oil and replace the fill cap

Once you’re done, you can use your dipstick to ensure you’ve added the right amount of oil and run the engine for a couple of minutes to watch for leaks. If everything has gone according to play, the
