The only thing left is to go over how to actually change your oil. All you’ll need to do is follow the easy step-by-step instructions listed below.

Start your Ford’s engine and allow it to run for 5-10 minutes until it reaches normal operating temperature. Then, shut off the engine and pop the hood.

Under the hood, you’ll see the oil reservoir topped with an oil fill cap—which should be clearly labeled. Remove the oil fill cap.

Slide underneath the engine bay, locate the oil drain bolt, position a drain pan underneath the bolt, and then use a wrench to remove the oil drain bolt. Watch out; the oil will begin draining immediately.

While the oil is draining, use a filter wrench to remove the old oil filter. Once the draining is completed, install a fresh replacement filter.

Reattach the oil drain bolt, tighten it securely, and then refill the engine’s oil using fresh motor oil.
