How to start your Mitsubishi remotely through the Mitsubishi Connect app

You can remotely start your Mitsubishi vehicle with ease using the My Mitsubishi Connect app.
First thing’s first: download the My Mitsubishi Connect app if you haven’t already. The app is available for iPhone users through the App Store and for Android users through Google Play.
You’ll need to pair the app to your Mitsubishi vehicle before you can use it. Luckily, you’ll only need to go through the pairing process once per smartphone—and it should walk you through the process with step-by-step instructions. Alternatively, you can bring your vehicle to a local Mitsubishi dealer, where a professional can pair your vehicle for you.
Once the app is paired to your vehicle, you’re ready to use it to remotely start your vehicle—just open it up by tapping on the app icon on your home screen. Once you’ve opened the app, you’ll see a digital display of your Mitsubishi vehicle. Underneath it, on the bottom left corner, you should be able to see an icon shaped like an engine.
Tap the engine icon. This should take you to a screen with two additional icons, labeled “ON” and “OFF” respectively above two engine icons. Just press the “ON” icon and input your four-digit security PIN to remotely start your vehicle’s engine

How to turn your Mitsubishi off remotely

Once you remotely start your Mitsubishi vehicle, you have 10 minutes to get in—otherwise, your engine will automatically shut back off. But it’s better not to let the engine run until an auto shut-off, as doing so could force you to reset the remote start feature in the app before you can use it again.
The good news is if you change your mind about leaving, you can remotely shut off your engine just as easily as you turned it on—simply log back into the app and tap the same engine icon in the bottom left-hand corner. This time, when the two engine icons pop up, select the one that says “OFF” to shut off your vehicle’s engine.

Other Remote Connect features

Remotely starting and stopping your vehicle are just two perks of the My Mitsubishi Connect app—but there are a number of additional benefits to using the app, such as:
  • Set and view charging schedules/status: In hybrid Mitsubishi models, you can schedule your vehicle’s charging and view the charge status of its battery directly from the app.
  • Remote climate control: Set and just the climate controls in your vehicle to reach your desired temperature before getting in.
  • Remote light and horn activation: Can’t remember where you parked? Use the app to turn on the vehicle’s lights or honk the horn so you can find it in a crowded parking lot.
  • Lock/unlock doors: Remotely unlock your vehicle’s doors before getting in. Doors will relock after 30 seconds.
  • Car finder: Another handy tool for helping find your vehicle when you can’t remember where you parked—this feature locates your car within a one-mile radius.
  • Parental controls: Curfew, speed, and geofence alerts let you know when your vehicle is being driven outside of a set time frame, speed limit, or geographical area of your choosing.
You can also use the app to schedule regular services at your local dealership, track your vehicle’s mileage, and access Mitsubishi Safeguard Services like emergency roadside assistance, stolen vehicle assistance, automatic collision notification, and more.

Is Mitsubishi’s remote start app free?

While downloading the app itself is technically free of charge, using it isn’t actually free.
For Mitsubishi models with app connectivity, you’ll pay for the first two years of your subscription as part of the price of the car—but after those initial two years are up, you’ll have to pay an annual fee of $99 to continue taking advantage of remote and safeguard services.
