Overall
Consumer Reports
loved the car, besides one feature. We’re going over everything you need to know about the 2022 Honda Accord, including Consumer Reports’ one complaint and if it’s big enough to be a deal breaker for drivers.

Consumer Reports overall 2022 Honda Accord review

The 2022 Honda Accord starts at a reasonable $26,120 and has a maximum price of around $38,050. For all sales, Honda adds an extra $1,015 to the bill as a destination fee.
Consumer Reports actually rated the 2022 Honda Accord as number one in the category of midsized vehicles. It received an overall score of 88 out of 100, along with an 89 out of 100 on its road test. On the road, Consumer Reports loved the standard model’s 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. It carries 192 hp and gets an impressive fuel economy of 31 mpg overall. The hybrid accord does even better on fuel economy, getting an impressive 47 mpg overall.
Predicted reliability and predicted owner satisfaction for the 2022 Accord are both above average, coming in at a four out of five. Comfort and convenience in the Honda Accord are also above average, with the car scoring a four out of five in all categories including front and rear seat comfort, noise, ride, cargo space, and interior fit and finish.
In terms of safety, the 2022 Honda Accord comes standard equipped with features like forward collision warning, lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane keeping assist, a rear view camera, traction control, daylight running lights and more.
Blind spot warning and rear cross traffic warning are optional. With all of these safety features available, Honda has clearly put time and effort into helping drivers be safe in their Honda vehicle.

So, what’s the complaint?

The one thing Consumer Reports didn’t like about the 2022 Honda Accord was that its low stance hurts access. Essentially, the 2022 Honda Accord got a complete makeover and with the redesign, it became a lower and wider car overall.
With that change, it makes getting in and out of the car a bit more difficult. Drivers and passengers are so low to the ground, they more or less need to duck while getting in and out, much more than was required in the previous years of Honda Accord models.
This could become a bigger problem for especially tall drivers and passengers.

Is it a dealbreaker?

According to Consumer Reports, although a bit inconvenient, the low stance is, “far from a back - (or deal) breaker.” Fortunately, the interior comfort of the car is great, so once you’re inside you’ll be comfortable—it’s just the getting in and out that can be a pain.
With all the other great features and ratings on this car, we agree that the low stance probably won’t be a dealbreaker for most drivers. But, if you’re extremely tall, it might be for you. Always remember to test drive a car before you buy it, so you can see features like this for yourself and determine your level of comfort!
