background
The Scion tC is a subcompact sports coupe that was in production until 2016. However, you may still buy a used one from dealers across the country. This front-drive coupe came with a hatchback and was a trim level below the rear-drive FR-S.
The car is, in many ways, a good buy and has been selling well across the country for years.

The Scion tC engine and performance

Cars.com
explains that the Scion tC runs on a regular unleaded l-4, 2.5-liter engine that produces 179 horsepower and 172 pound-feet of torque at 4100 rpm. This engine is mated with a six-speed transmission with associate overdrive.
It has a combined EPA fuel economy of 26 mpg and a city/highway efficiency of 23/31 mpg.
Scion tC has smooth handling thanks to its electric power-assist steering, anti-roll bars within the front and rear, gas-pressurized shock absorbers, and 17-inch alloy wheels.
However, you can enhance the performance through OEM and aftermarket parts, including lowering springs, 19-inch wheels, and a custom exhaust.
You can add to the vehicle other performance features, including a cold air intake, a front strut tie brace, and a high-performance air filter.

How does the Scion tC compare with competing models?

Despite the association with sports vehicles,
Motor Trend
explains that the model is not especially sporty. However, the space in the cabin makes it more practical than many competing coupes such as the 2016 Hyundai Veloster and Fiat 500.
However, these models have better driving dynamics than the Scion tC. Besides, the cabin is not very quiet while traveling at high speeds. On the bright side, the 18-inch wheels and tires have a lot of traction and can handle different driving situations.
The model comes with many standard features, allowing users to customize it to their liking with relative ease. This is not the case with most competing brands, such as the 2016
Volkswagen Golf
or the Hyundai Veloster from the same year.
