background
Subaru's
Outback model has
several trim levels
to choose from and is one of the brand's most popular off-road vehicles. However, a new Outback model was recently introduced at the New York Auto show, and it promises to be very interesting. But are Subaru's new updates exciting, and how can you best
insure
the new model? Let's take a look.

What’s new for the Subaru Outback for 2023?

The most significant change lies with the styling. The newest Subaru Outback will have a revised front fascia, with coverings for the wheel wells. Subaru is adding a new bumper cover, grille, and headlight design to give this SUV a more rugged look for the road.
To go along with the aesthetics are some new tech features as well. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will now be standard on a new 11.6-inch infotainment display, which also offers on-screen controls for the climate system and radio.
A few driver's assistance features will be added too. Adaptive cruise control with lane-centering and DriverFocus Distraction Mitigation will be standard items for the Outback. Front-View Monitor will also be available as an add-on option.

What hasn't changed for the 2023 Subaru Outback model?

You can expect the engines to remain the same with the new 2023 model. The base model will keep the 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder that produces 182 hp. The higher trims will stick with the 2.4-liter turbocharged engine, which can generate 260 hp as well as 277 lb-ft of torque.
Towing capacity
is reported to be 3,500 lbs.
According to
Autoweek
, the standard all-wheel-drive system will be working with a continuously variable transmission. Pricing isn't known as of yet, but it's likely to go above the current $28,320 for the 2022 base model of the Subaru Outback.

Will the new model be worth it?

The new aesthetics for the Subaru Outback do provide some sharp styling that will get you noticed, like its fresh new front design and wheel well adornments. The purpose was to make the SUV seem more rugged so it can look the part of an off-road vehicle. For the most part, it does that well.
However, some commenters feel the new looks don't cut it for them. They claim that the wheel well design isn't appealing, and they wish it were left off of the drawing board. It goes to show the styling for the new model isn't going to be for everybody.
What it will boil down to, though, is taste. If you really want an Outback, and the new design is your cup of tea, the 2023 model should be a good deal for you, provided the price isn't too much more than this year's base.
