background
The front pages of news outlets covering Lamborghini's 50th anniversary were marked by more than CEOs toasting glasses of wine and munching cakes. The company was unleashing one of the most advanced, stunning, and fancy cars the world has ever seen: The Lamborghini Veneno. The sleek model celebrates 50 years of manufacturing
classic cars
.
The Veneno contains all the elements of a racing car built for over a century. It was therefore beautifully designed, and slapped with a hefty price tag. In 2014, Veneno was selling at $4 million, but the price appreciated by almost $5 million in under five years.
As of 2018, curious car lovers needed at least $8.27 million to own a Veneno Coupe, but you could land on a
Veneno Roadster
at a lower price.

How did the Lamborghini Veneno get its start?

The Lamborghini Veneno, with its sharp edges and sleek body, is every bit a car made for the track.
The ceremonial conception of the Veneno was a historic event. The car was developed to celebrate Lamborghini’s 50th anniversary and was unveiled for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show in 2013.
Most of the Veneno's features were borrowed from the Lamborghini Aventador, launched just two years earlier at the same motor show. However, Veneno did have some distinctive features, such as its aggressive geometry and lightweight reinforced body.

In the Veneno, Lamborghini came out with a clear statement that spelled out efficiency, high engine power, advanced aerodynamic designs, and a deluxe exterior.
The front end acts like airplane wings that slice through the air effortlessly to cool down the engine and enhance aerodynamic properties. This makes it a perfect choice for speed freaks looking for an adrenaline rush. Add that to the
Y-shaped
angular lamps, and the Veneno is very much a car built for speed.
It’s not bad under the hood, either. The powerful 6.5-liter V12 engine produces 750 horsepower and can catapult the car from 0 to 100 km less in 3 seconds. The vehicle can also reach a top cruising speed of 220 mph.
The Veneno’s interior was designed with luxury and comfort in mind. You will notice Veneno's golden bull logo on the steering wheel. The gleaming interior has simplified cruise controls, digitized panels, and computerized keys for high-speed races. The seats, in contrast, are adorned with carbon skins.

Where is the Lamborghini Veneno?

The Veneno is not your everyday car, and there are slim chances you will ever see one on the street. According to
Lamborghini
, only four Veneno Coupes were ever produced. Three of them don the Italian flag's red, white, and green colors, respectively, while the fourth is gray.
The closest you can get to a Veneno is if you travel to the Museum of Lamborghini Technologies in Sant'Agata Bolognese—where the prototype is kept.
The other two cars went to the USA to Kris Singh, the director of Tequesta Investment in Florida, and Antoine Dominic, a long-time Long Beach sports car enthusiast, according to LamboCars.
Meanwhile, the third went to Al Jaziri Motors, a family-run business based in Dubai, which ordered one.
