background
We can’t get enough of Jerry Seinfeld’s hit show Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. In fact, we’ve obsessed over pretty much every season—so finding our favorite rides from each episode has been pretty tough. But when it comes to Season 4, we’ve taken the time to choose our four favorite rides. These are cars that ooze
luxury
, class, and old-school styling.

#1: 1965 Buick Riviera

Guest: George Wallace
S4, E2: “Two Polish Airline Pilots”
An ultra-cool styling element (eventually borrowed by the 1969 Dodge Charger) was the Buick Riviera’s hidden headlights, which popped out on command from inside the driver’s cabin.
Classic Car History
explains that while the ‘65 Buick Riviera was a luxury car that had very little to do with the French region for which it was named, it had a ton of American-style luxuries.
This included chrome wheels, a 401-CID engine, and era-specific 12-inch drum brakes on all four wheels. Even better, the Buick Riviera was actually faster than the 1965 Ford Thunderbird.

#2: 1967 Jaguar Mark 2

Guest: Robert Klein
S4, E3: “Opera Pimp”
From James Bond films to sports stars and celebrities, Jaguar has always been a brand associated with wealth and style. A British luxury car to the bone,
Hagerty
raves over the ‘67 Jaguar—a four-door sedan that packed a ton of European attitude, both in the cabin and underneath its 255-horsepower-packed hood.
Though Dodge is now the brand associated with the legendary ‘Hemi’ engines, the 1967 Jaguar Mark 2 was powered by a Daimler-designed Hemi V8. The Jaguar Mark 2 is rare, too. Only 340 were built from 1967 to 1969.

#3: 1968 AMC AMX

Guest: Jon Stewart
S4, E5: “The Sound of Virginity”
Nothing screams “1960s muscle car” quite like a two-door fastback—and that’s exactly what the 1968 AMC AMX is.
Hagerty
outlines that before being absorbed into Chrysler Corp. back in the 1980s, AMC was doing well selling cheap, powerful muscle cars during the mid to late-‘60s.
The AMC AMX came with an option big-block V8, cranking out an impressive 315 hp. The AMC AMX is also the larger brother to the more well-known Javelin.

#4: 1976 Triumph TR6

Guests: Colin Quinn, Mario Joyner
S1, E8: “I Hear Downton Abbey Is Pretty Good…”
Though it’s nearly a decade older than the rest of the cars on our list for Season 4 of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, the ‘76 Triumph TR6 earned its ranking.
As
Hagerty
indicates, a two-door convertible with a mini 101-hp engine may not seem like quite the luxury car to be featured on Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, but what the Triumph lacks in power is made up for in style.
Plus, this mini luxury car was surprisingly well-known for its beastly-sounding exhaust, matching a V8 of far-larger size.
