Will using a Cobb AccessPort void the Subaru warranty?

I want to install a Cobb AccessPort to my Subaru so that I can configure the ECU—and get more power out of my car. But I’m worried this may be a bad idea and ruin my warranty coverage.

As with any third-party installations, we would err on the side of caution. While using the Cobb AccessPort shouldn’t void your warranty, the manufacturer could deny certain claims.
Plugging in a Cobb Accessport is unlikely to cause any damage, but any major modifications made to the ECU could damage the system. It may be tempting to replace conservative factory settings with more aggressive calibrations, but it’s a risky move.
If you make a warranty claim and your dealer discovers that a particular repair is attributed to changes you made with the Cobb AP, they may refuse to cover it. In this case, you will have to pay for the repairs yourself.
