A small rock hit my windshield while I was on the highway the other day and made a crack. The crack seems to be getting bigger each day! Will my windshield shatter while I’m driving?

Unfortunately, since there is a growing crack, your windshield could break while driving.
The crack can continue to spread due to moisture, temperature fluctuations, and further impact. The good news is that windshields are laminated on both sides so yours won’t shatter into the car.

Traveling with a cracked windshield can be dangerous:
It can decrease your visibility, making it harder to see your surroundings and react accordingly. This is especially true if the cracks spiderweb across the whole glass.
It weakens the window’s structural integrity. This, in turn, will provide less protection if you were to get into a collision.
You will need to replace your windshield if:
The crack is over three inches long.
You have more than three cracks and chips.
The crack is on the edge of the window. This is especially urgentt
