Why is my Honda CR-V making a ticking noise?

My car usually runs great, but lately I’ve noticed a ticking noise when I’m driving. Is this normal? What is causing my Honda CR-V to make a ticking sound?

It’s good that you’re facing the problem head-on instead of ignoring it! Your Honda CR-V could be making a ticking noise for a few reasons:
  • Low oil level
  • Low oil pressure
  • Ignition system issue
  • Exhaust leak
  • Damaged CV joint (if the sound is coming from the wheels)
There have also been some complaints about
Honda
injectors being louder than injectors in other vehicles.
Some of the above issues are things you can deal with at home—like changing your oil. But if the ticking sound continues, you should get a mechanic to take a look.
While you’re figuring out the mysterious ticking sound, why not take a minute to improve your car insurance experience, as well? With
