Which is positive red or black?

Oh boy, I’m on the side of the road, trying to jump my friend’s car, and my mind is blanking out. Which cable is positive, red or black? And what about the battery terminals?

Oh no! The red cable is used to connect the positive (+) battery terminals. Look at each car’s battery. The positive (+) terminals may have a red cap, ring, or wires. You should also see a plus (+) sign on top of the terminal. That identifies it as being the positive (+) terminal.
On some battery terminals, you may not be able to make out the plus (+) or negative (-) sign on top of the terminals. And there may be no red wires, a red cap, or a red ring to distinguish the positive terminal.
If this is the case, you can still identify the positive terminal by looking at its size. The positive terminal is larger than the negative terminal.
