Why is my ABS light on in my Jeep?

Hey! I own a Jeep Grand Cherokee and lately my ABS light has been turning on. What’s causing my ABS light to come on in my Jeep? Thanks.

The ABS light in your
Jeep
comes on when your vehicle fails a self-diagnostic cycle. When the light is illuminated, your vehicle may not be able to provide certain safety features, like properly signaling the anti-lock brake system.
Your vehicle’s ABS system relies on a system of sensors to help it determine the appropriate wheel speed when braking. Some other common reasons why the ABS light may have come on in your Jeep include:
  • Faulty wheel speed sensor
  • Damaged ABS module
  • Low ABS fluid level
While driving with your ABS light is okay, we don’t suggest ignoring it for long. If the light comes on in your Jeep, visit your local mechanic to address the issue.
