Where is the OBD port on a 2019 Jeep Cherokee?
I’ll be starting mechanic school in the fall, but I want to start learning some basic car stuff on my own. I bought an OBD scanner recently and I want to try it out, but I’ve never used one before! Where is the OBD port on a 2019 Jeep Cherokee?

The OBD port on a 2019
Jeep Cherokee
can be found under the driver’s side dashboard, to the left of the steering wheel column. Here are some basic instructions on how to use an OBD scanner:
- Make sure your vehicle is turned off.
- Plug your OBD scanner into the port.
- Turn your car back on again.
- Follow the prompts and enter your car’s VIN (vehicle identification number) or make, model, and year when requested.
- Go to your scanner’s menu.
- Look for a “pending codes” option and give it a tap.
Now all you have to do is wait a few seconds to find out if your scanner found any issues with the car. If it did, you’ll be presented with one or more four-digit error codes, which can help you diagnose the problem. Unfortunately, most OBD scanners won’t define error codes for you, so you might need to look them up online, or buy an error code book.
Once you know what the codes mean, you can figure out whether you want to fix your car yourself, or
take your car to a repair shop or mobile mechanic
