Where is the gas tank on a Chevy Malibu?

I’m buying a 2020 Chevy Malibu, and all of my previous cars have had the gas tank on the right—where is it on a Malibu?

The gas tank on a Chevy Malibu is on the rear passenger’s side—you’ll find the fuel tank door on the back right of the vehicle. To open the fuel door, press the rear portion of the door in and release. The gas tank door will pop open. Newer Chevy Malibu’s have a capless gas tank, so you won’t need to unscrew a fuel cap.
Here’s a simple trick for knowing which side of the vehicle the gas tank is on:
Look at the gas level indicator on your dashboard. Whether you have a manual dial or a digital reader, there will be a tiny arrow beside the gas tank. That arrow points to the side of the car your gas tank door is on.
