I’m having trouble starting my 2009 Dodge Journey, and my friend suggested my battery terminals might be corroded and need cleaning. I looked under the hood, but I couldn’t find the battery! Where is the battery on a 2009 Dodge Journey?

The battery on a 2009 Dodge Journey is actually located on the bumper shelf underneath the left side headlight. It’s a pretty odd location for a vehicle battery, so don’t feel bad that you couldn’t find it!
While moving the battery underneath the headlight has some benefits like freeing up space in the engine compartment, it also has a distinct drawback – it’s more susceptible to dirt and grime from the road. For this reason, your battery terminals are more likely to become corroded over time.
