Where is the 1995 Dodge Ram 2500 OBD port location?

My 1995 Ram truck has been my most loyal driver. But it’s old and has many problems, so I bought an OBD2 scanner to save my mechanic some time. The thing is, I have no idea where to plug it into the car! Where is the OBD port located in a 1995 Dodge Ram 2500?

In most cases, the location of the OBD port in any
Dodge Ram 2500
made between 1993 and 2001—including the 1995 Dodge Ram 2500—is just above the gas pedal in the driver’s footwell.
In some vehicles, the port may be hidden behind a removable plastic panel, so check thoroughly! If you’re still having trouble locating the connector port, see if your owner’s manual gives you more information on where to find it.
Once you’ve found your car’s OBD port, you can use your OBD tool to scan for
trouble codes
. These codes can return information on what type of problem you’re experiencing and where it’s coming from—whether it be your car’s transmission or computer software.
If the issue is small you can take care of it yourself (and save a trip to the mechanic’s shop). But even in cases where you need a professional fixer, using an OBD scanner can be a valuable tool for helping you get to the bottom of a problem—and potentially budget for the expense.
