What’s the Ford Explorer XLT’s top speed?
I was looking into getting a Ford Explorer XLT for my family, but I don’t know too much about it. I want just a middle-of-the-road, average-reliability, mid-size SUV, and I think the Explorer fits the bill. Could you tell me what its top speed is?

Ford Explorer XLT
does have a reputation as a family vehicle—perfect for toting the kids and everything they may haul with them. The Ford Explorer XLT can reach a top speed of 145 mph without a governor. Additionally, there are three rows of seats and plenty of cargo space—plus, lots of tech and safety features.
The Explorer XLT is a trim level above the base, which already comes with a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine with 300 horsepower. If you’d like to “go green”, you can select a hybrid powertrain. And for more power? Consider the 400-horsepower twin-turbo V6 option.
