My car’s power door locks aren’t working correctly, and now my mechanic is saying the actuator needs to be replaced. What’s the average car actuator replacement cost?

The average car actuator replacement cost is about $400, including the cost of labor. But exactly what you pay will vary depending upon your car’s make and model, and can range from as low as $70 to as high as $900.
In most cases, a mechanic will remove the malfunctioning actuator and replace it with a functioning one. Depending on the age of your vehicle, you may only need one or all of the actuators replaced, which can also impact the price.
To get a more accurate picture of how much you’ll pay for the repair, ask your mechanic for a quote. If you’re not satisfied with the number, you may want to request quotes from other auto shops to potentially find a lower price.
Hopefully, this will be a straightforward repair that gets your car doors working like new!
