What year was the first Chevrolet Malibu LTZ produced?

I love my Malibu LTZ, but I bought it refurbished and modified. Because of all the changes, I have no frame of reference for when it was actually produced. For all I know, it could be anywhere from 3 to 20 years old. In what year did Chevrolet release the first Malibu LTZ?

The
Chevrolet Malibu LTZ
was first released in 2010 as a high-end trim alternative to the standard Chevrolet Malibu. While the Malibu is a reliable commuter overall, the LTZ offered upgraded features and a more comfortable interior that brought a little more appeal to the midsize sedan.
Chevrolet stopped making the LTZ Trim in 2016, but up until then, it was used as a luxury alternative to the Malibu’s generally average features. Here are a few of the most notable features included in the LTZ trim:
  • Turbocharged 2.0L V4 engine
  • Increased legroom
  • Ambient lighting
  • Advanced infotainment system
  • Premium sound system
While the LTZ is definitely a step up from the average Chevrolet Malibu, it isn’t considered the best option on the market. Competitors like the
Honda Civic
and
Ford Fusion
consistently outperform the Malibu in nearly every category. That said, you can typically find a brand new Chevrolet Malibu for around $22,000, so the price and quality go hand in hand.
Of course, you can always pay more for a higher trim Malibu and offset the price by saving on car insurance with
