What year was the first Chevrolet Cruze Eco?

I’ve been up for hours wondering about the demise of the Chevrolet Cruze—what year was the Chevrolet Cruze Eco trim first introduced?

Well, we here at Jerry are slightly concerned that you’re losing sleep over a vehicle that was discontinued after the 2019 model year, but to help you sleep at night, we can tell you that the first
Chevrolet Cruze Eco
was introduced in 2011.
The Chevrolet Cruze was a sought-after, reliable sedan that lived from 2011 to 2019, and the Eco trim was available that first year. It shared many characteristics with the Cruze LS trim, but it sported a slightly different design to maximize eco-friendliness. The Cruze Eco’s original MSRP was $18,425, but you can find a used one today for around $12,000.
The first Cruze Eco to hit the U.S. market boasted 136 horsepower with nimble handling and a smooth, comfortable ride. You’ll find high-quality interiors as well as a twin-cockpit interior design, comfortable front seats, and an above-average trunk space for its class.
The Eco also came with OnStar telematics capability, air-conditioning, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, 8-way adjustable driver’s seat, and a 60/40 split rear seat. It was also equipped with full power accessories.
To reduce its carbon footprint, the Chevrolet Cruze Eco featured:
  • Lightweight alloy wheels
  • A smaller fuel tank
  • Low-rolling-resistance tires
  • Lighter overall design
If you go down memory lane and get yourself a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze Eco (or wait a few years for a rumored new Cruze coming down the pipeline), you’ll want to protect your vehicle with a robust
