What voids a Honda warranty?

I have a Honda Civic Si that I want to modify. However, my car is still under warranty and I don’t want to accidentally void it. What are some instances that void a Honda warranty?

If you want to modify your
Honda Civic Si
, you won’t necessarily void the warranty. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act prevents an automaker from automatically voiding a warranty due simply to modifications.
However, you can mistakenly void your
Honda
warranty under these circumstances:
  • You use improper fluids under the hood, such as the wrong oil or transmission fluid.
  • You improperly install modifications that cause damage to other components of the vehicle.
  • You failed to keep receipts from repair shops that can verify that you had work properly completed.
  • You tow something with your car that’s above the towing capacity or with a car that’s not designed to tow, such as the Honda Civic Si.
If you want to offset some of the costs of repairs not covered by the Honda warranty, make sure to use the
