What national parks are in New York?

I live in New York City, but I’m always eager to get away from the crowds and out into the wilderness. I want to plan a trip to a national park, but I don’t want to travel too far. What are the national parks in New York?

Getting away from the crowds of
New York
is a great way to relax, unwind, and enjoy a moment of silence. Unfortunately, New York has no national parks, but the state does have 24 sites administered by the National Parks Service.
A vast majority of these are in New York City, but if you want to get away from the Big Apple, consider a few of these sites:
  • Fire Island National Seashore in Patchogue
  • Harriet Tubman National Historic Park in Auburn
  • Martin Van Buren National Historic Site in Kinderhook
  • North Country National Scenic Trail (numerous areas)
  • Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River (numerous areas)
  • Women’s Rights National Historical Park in Seneca Falls
If you decide to road trip your way to a few of these parks, review your car insurance before you leave and compare quotes with the
Jerry
app.
Jerry is a licensed insurance broker and insurance comparison tool that collects quotes from over 55 top-rated insurers in just 45 seconds. After you find a great rate, Jerry can help you buy new insurance and cancel your old policy. Users save an average of $800+ per year!
