What is the Mercedes GLB towing capacity?

I love the styling and price of the Mercedes GLB, although it’s a bit on the smaller side. However, I make furniture on the side and sell it at farmer’s markets around the country, so I need something that can tow a small trailer. How much can the Mercedes GLB tow?

The
Mercedes GLB
is the second-smallest SUV in the G-Class lineup. Unfortunately, it has only a *2.0-liter four-cylinder**, which means it’s not rated for towing. As a result, you should never tow with a Mercedes GLB, even if you install a tow bar or hitch.
If you want to buy a G-Class Mercedes SUV that can tow, opt for the
Mercedes GLC
. This slightly larger SUV provides 3,500 pounds of towing power, which should be enough for a small trailer. However, you may want to weigh the trailer and your furniture to make sure it’s powerful enough to handle the load.
Other towing capacities in the G-Class SUV lineup are:
  • GLE SUV: 5,950 to 7,700 pounds when properly equipped
  • GLS SUV: 7,700 pounds
  • G-Class SUV: 7,000 pounds
Since you’re planning on taking a trailer to local markets, make sure you have the right insurance coverage to protect yourself and your assets. One place to start shopping is with the
