2022 GMC Yukon customization options
The GMC Yukon is a full-size SUV that gives the aura of luxury. However, don’t let its premium appearance fool you—the Yukon is a highly capable off-road SUV that fairs better in rugged conditions than its competitors.
The Yukon comes with two gasoline engine offerings: the 5.3-liter V8 engine, producing 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque, which is standard on all trims, or the 6.2-liter V8 engine, producing 420 hp, which is available for the AT4 trim. There is also the turbo-diesel 3.0-liter inline-six engine that would be perfect for customers who plan to tow heavy loads.
All models have a 10-speed automatic transmission, which is conveniently operated by a push-button panel on the dashboard. Depending on the trim, you could also get the Yukon in two- or four-wheel drive.
If you’re a fan of off-roading, the AT4 model has been perfected for rugged terrain—it is outfitted with a two-speed transfer case, 20-inch wheels, all-terrain tires, and underbody skid plates. You can also add the optional air suspension for an extra two inches of ground clearance to handle even the roughest roads.
If you want a longer wheelbase, the Yukon XL is also available.

The base Yukon comes with 20-inch aluminum wheels, which can look tame on the SUV. You can upgrade the look and feel of the Yukon just by getting bigger wheels. You can also install all-terrain tires so that the Yukon can better handle off-roading conditions.
