2022 GMC Yukon customization options
The GMC Yukon is a full-size SUV that gives the aura of luxury. However, don’t let its premium appearance fool you—the Yukon is a highly capable off-road SUV that fairs better in rugged conditions than its competitors.
The 2022 Yukon was available in four trim levels—SLE
, SLT
, AT4, and Denali
. The starting price ranges from $52,500 to $73,600. The Yukon comes with two gasoline engine offerings: the 5.3-liter V8 engine, producing 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque, which is standard on all trims, or the 6.2-liter V8 engine, producing 420 hp, which is available for the AT4 trim. There is also the turbo-diesel 3.0-liter inline-six engine that would be perfect for customers who plan to tow heavy loads.
All models have a 10-speed automatic transmission, which is conveniently operated by a push-button panel on the dashboard. Depending on the trim, you could also get the Yukon in two- or four-wheel drive.
If you’re a fan of off-roading, the AT4 model has been perfected for rugged terrain—it is outfitted with a two-speed transfer case, 20-inch wheels, all-terrain tires, and underbody skid plates. You can also add the optional air suspension for an extra two inches of ground clearance to handle even the roughest roads.
If you want a longer wheelbase, the Yukon XL is also available.

How to customize your Yukon to save money
Choosing any add-ons and packages naturally means you’ll increase the overall cost of the car.
If you were to choose all the SLT packages available, there would be a large increase in the price—from the base MSRP of $60,695 to $65,660.
Loading up your Yukon with upgrades means you’ll be paying a lot more for your car and your car insurance. However, some custom options could actually help save you money. Consider these options if you’re hoping to save more on your custom Yukon:
Interior protection package: If you plan to sell your Yukon in the future, getting this package will help protect the interior of the Yukon to help retain its value.
Safety package: Adding this package will give you HD Surround Vision and Rear Pedestrian Alert—and more features on higher trims. These safety features could help you get a discounted rate on your insurance, depending on the provider.
Security packages: Adding a theft-deterrent system, inclination sensor, glass breakage sensor, etc. with this package can help you lower your insurance rates since you have a lower risk of theft.

Start earning nowThe best GMC Yukon mods
Sometimes, the best way to give your Yukon some extra charm is to make some aftermarket modifications. You can try some of these popular mods:
Tires
The base Yukon comes with 20-inch aluminum wheels, which can look tame on the SUV. You can upgrade the look and feel of the Yukon just by getting bigger wheels. You can also install all-terrain tires so that the Yukon can better handle off-roading conditions.
Suspension
When you’re installing bigger wheels, you may need a lift so that the new wheels can fit. If you want to increase the height and wheel clearance while improving off-roading performance, you can get a lift kit installed.
Hitch
Hitch sizes aren’t standardized, so the factory hitch that comes with the Yukon may limit the range of trailers you can tow. Upgrade your hitch to something with an adjustable height and interchangeable receivers so that you can accommodate more hitch sizes.

My husband and I got the lowest rate (much lower than the rates I was finding online through my own searches), quickly, and pretty much all through text message!
