What is the Lexus IS 300’s top speed?
Since Lexus is a luxury brand, I figured most of their cars can go pretty fast. What is the top speed possible for a Lexus IS 300?

Although not always true, more expensive cars tend to have faster top speeds than cheap cars do.
The
Lexus IS 300
has a top speed of around 140 mph. Higher trim levels have a top speed that reaches or exceeds 160 mph. Since both of these speeds are well above the legal limit in the United States, the difference shouldn’t affect you much.
Although the Lexus IS 300 has a starting price of over $40,000, it’s still relatively cheap compared to some of the higher trims. The base 300’s 2.0 -liter I-4 engine doesn’t hold a candle to the V8 available on higher trims, and as a result, the performance suffers.
Outside of speed, the Lexus IS 300 offers plenty for drivers to like including:
- A high-end and comfortable interiors
- Excellent handling
- A solid Infotainment system
If you’re all about performance, the Lexus IS 500 Performance trim is going to cost you around $18,000 more than the base model. This probably isn’t worth it to increase the top speed alone, but when it comes to acceleration, drivers will feel a difference.
