What is the best years for a used BMW Z4?
Now that I’m retired, I’m ready to buy my first sports car! I’ve got my heart set on a used BMW Z4, but I don’t know which year to get. What is the best year for a used BMW Z4?

Congratulations on your retirement—and on your soon-to-be new sports car! Lucky for you, the BMW Z4 is a consistently reliable vehicle, with only two years to avoid: the 2003 and 2007. Beyond that, it’s really just a matter of price and personal taste!
The Z4s have great staying power, making them an excellent choice for a used sports car. Because of that, you could consider purchasing one as old as the 2004, 2006, or 2008 model years. These older Z4s are often still in good condition, but their prices will have dropped more dramatically over time.
If you’re looking for something newer, you could also consider models from 2017 onward. They will have more modern tech features but will also come with a higher price tag. Keep in mind that it’s not only the up-front cost you’ll have to pay—the higher the starting price, the more expensive your car insurance will be.
