What is the best Porsche Cayenne for off-road driving?

I’m a huge fan of the Porsche Cayenne. However, I’ve found that luxury SUVs aren’t necessarily up to the task of off-roading. That’s why I want to make sure I buy a Cayenne that’s ready to blaze new trails. What’s the best Cayenne for getting off the pavement?

Known as a soft-roader, the
Porsche Cayenne
isn’t synonymous with off-road driving. Nevertheless, it has a few features that make it fully capable of hitting off-road trails. The best
Porsche
Cayenne for off-road driving is probably the S 955, which was produced between 2003 and 2006.
The reason that this Porsche is a bit better than the rest is that it features:
  • An air suspension, which provides smoother driving no matter what terrain you’re on
  • 4.5-liter V8 engine that produces an impressive 420 horsepower and 309 pound-feet of torque
  • A locking rear differential, which allows the tires on the ground to get maximum torque while tires off the ground get no torque
All you have to do is add a set of off-road tires to the mix and the Cayennes S 955 will become quite the off-road beast.
