needs SAE 5W-30 engine oil, you actually don’t need that information to schedule an oil change! Your mechanic will ask for your car’s make and model—but they’ll know what kind of oil it takes. Since you’re a new car owner, here are a few things to remember about car maintenance:
- Make sure to get an oil change every 5,000 miles to prevent overheating and engine damage.
- Replace your wiper blades about once a year, and top off your window washing fluid every three months.
- Have your wheels aligned every 6,000 miles to keep your tires from wearing out.
- Get a new set of tires every 50,000 miles.
- Have your battery tested every five years, and replace it if it’s low on power.
- Find your car’s recommended maintenance schedule in your owner’s manual or online and stick to it! When your mechanic does a “maintenance check” they will look at your car’s fluids, filters, belts, hoses, and other parts to make sure everything is working correctly.
