What is the 2005 Toyota Corolla oil type?

My old 2005 Toyota Corolla is still kicking, but I want to start doing the oil changes rather than take it to a mechanic. What kind of oil does it use?

The 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine in the 2005
Toyota Corolla
uses SAE 5W-30 synthetic oil for optimal fuel economy and engine performance. However, if you can’t find the preferred oil, you can substitute with SAE 10W-30—just make sure to use SAE 5W-30 on the following oil change.
On top of changing your oil, here are a few other things you’ll want to check once you reach 15,000 miles:
  • Oil filter change
  • Brake inspection
  • Tire rotation and inspection
  • Cooling system inspection and fill
  • Check ball joints
  • Check steering components
  • Check exhaust system
