What happens if there are bubbles in the power steering fluid?

I’ve been having trouble turning my Audi’s steering wheel recently. I checked my power steering fluid reservoir and there were bubbles in it! I don’t know what that means, but I doubt it’s good. What happens if there are bubbles in the power steering fluid?

Bubbles in your power steering fluid means there is an air pocket in your power steering pump or an air leak in your power steering system. Whatever the issue is, it needs to be addressed as soon as possible.
Since the power steering system is a closed system, there should be no air getting in to create air bubbles.
To solve this issue, you need to find the leak or whatever is causing air to get into your power steering system. For most car owners, that means a trip to the mechanic.
