What does it cost to join Zipcar?
How much is a Zipcar membership? I want to join, but don't want to have to pay a recurring cost.

“If you don’t want to pay a recurring fee, Zipcar does offer an annual membership for $70. To join Zipcar, you’ll need to pay a one time $25 application fee, along with:
- A picture of your driver’s license
- A picture of yourself
- An online account
Once approved, the only additional fees you pay are when you rent a car. These fees are typically hourly or daily and vary depending on the type car you rent.
The benefits that come with a Zipcar membership are:
- Liability coveragefor all trips
- Free gas
- Maintenance and roadside assistance
- 180 miles per day included
Before deciding to join Zipcar, you can look at the cost of membership along with the cost to rent a vehicle. By purchasing a yearly membership, you save $14 versus paying a recurring monthly fee.
