What credit score is needed for a 0% interest car loan?

The local Honda dealership currently has a 0% interest car loan for qualified buyers, and I’m in the market for a vehicle. However, I’m not sure if I qualify. What’s the lowest credit score I’d need to get a 0% interest car loan from a dealership?

Whenever you see a 0% interest
car loan
, you should consider applying! While most lenders prefer you to have an exemplary credit score, borrowers with credit scores as low as 740 are sometimes approved, as well.
Look over your credit report and make sure your score is around 740 before you apply. Taking out a car loan could prompt a hard inquiry, which could negatively impact your score. Here are a few places you can find your credit report:
  • Your bank or credit card company
  • A credit reporting bureau (Experian, Equifax, or TransUnion)
By analyzing your credit score and credit report, you can see if you’re a qualified applicant. If your score is a little lower than 740, you can try putting together a payment plan to make yourself look more competitive. Even if you don’t get the 0% APR loan, you can find competitive car loan rates with credit unions, lenders, and banks.
