What causes 2016 Nissan LEAF battery degradation?

I have a 2016 Nissan LEAF and it seems like the battery is getting less and less range on a full charge lately. I’m sure it’s natural for vehicles, no matter the power source, to become less effective over the years, but is there a specific reason for the battery degradation in this car? I’d like to extend its life as long as possible.

It is natural for an EV battery to lose some range over time, but battery degradation in a 2016

battery can be caused by the climate where you live.
On the roads for nearly a decade, the Nissan LEAF is a very popular all-electric vehicle. It is different from other EVs, though, because of the way it regulates its temperature. LEAF batteries use flowing air rather than liquid to cool themselves.
You’re likely to see accelerated
Nissan
LEAF battery degradation if you live in a hot climate with high air temperatures year-round than in other EV batteries of a similar age.
Unfortunately, there’s not much you can do about the climate of where you live, but you can make an effort to store your 2016 LEAF away from direct heat as often as possible and maybe save some errands for cooler days.
