I’ve got a family vacation to Kauai soon, and I’m worried the kids will get bored. What are some good family activities in Kauai?

Oof! We get it. Kids can be a tough audience, especially teens. But don’t worry, there’s plenty of stuff to do with the family, so there’s no fear of your kids getting bored.
Here are the best family activities in Kauai.
- Visit Lydgate Beach. Located on the east side of the island, Lydgate has two protected pools with lifeguards on duty. You’ll also find a picnic area, restrooms, and a playground—enough stuff to make a day of it.
- Take a helicopter tour. The Jurassic Falls Helicopter Landing Adventure will give you a one-hour tour of the entire island. The helicopter takes you all around the gorgeous “Garden Island” and even makes a stop at the Manawaiopuna Falls, which was featured in the hit film Jurassic Park.
- Check out an a-maze-ing botanical garden. You can learn about traditional indigenous culture at the Na Aina Kai Botanical Garden. It also has tons of things for kids to do, including a tree fort, tunnel network, and hedge maze.
- Go for a horseback ride. You can book your family a horseback adventure through the foothills and bluffs of Kauai. There are options for every level of rider, and you’ll get a chance to stop for snacks, photos, and even swimming.
