Cleveland
is a fun and affordable option! Some of the best outdoor activities in Cleveland include visiting the many parks and museums or even hitting the beach.Here’s a full list:
- Hangout in the downtown green spaces. Have a picnic, walk your dog, fly a kite, or just chill with friends at Voinovich Bicentennial Park at North Coast Harbor, The Malls near the Huntington Convention Center, Willard Park, The Flats, or any one of CLE’s many downtown parks.
- Hit the beach. Cleveland sits right on Lake Erie, a beautiful destination for watersports and beach activities during the warm summer months! The most well-known lakeside destination is Edgewater Beach, where you’ll find a fishing pier, volleyball courts, food trucks, and a popular summer concert series.
- Explore the Cleveland Metroparks. This urban system consists of 18 reservations and nature preserves encompassing 23,000 acres throughout the Greater Cleveland area. The parks are connected by a series of bike trails and surround the whole city, earning them the nickname “The Emerald Necklace.” You’ll also find hiking trails, golf courses, and more.
- Soak in Cleveland’s culture. Visit Wade Lagoon, located behind the Cleveland Museum of Art, and explore their Fine Arts Garden (we suggest going in the spring when the cherry blossoms are in bloom!). Or, head to the Cleveland Cultural Gardens, which boast 30 different gardens, each maintained by a different cultural group in the city.
