Is your car totaled when airbags deploy?

I recently got into a car accident where my airbags were deployed. I filed a claim but I’m still waiting to hear back from my car insurance to find out if it was totaled. Is your car totaled when airbags deploy?

I’m sorry to hear about your accident! Airbag deployment does not automatically mean your car has been totaled. However, if the airbags deploy and the cost to replace them is more than the value of the vehicle itself, then it would be considered a total loss.
