Is there a national forest in Virginia?

My husband and I are going to his college reunion in Virginia, and I’m hoping to throw in a surprise camping trip. I’m thinking a national forest might be the move. What national forests are in Virginia?

Virginia has two national forests: George Washington and Jefferson National Forests. At these beautiful natural sites, you’ll find exotic birds, endless hiking trails, and over a million acres of Appalachian forest.
Make sure to book a campsite far in advance, and always be prepared if you’re hitting the trails—bear spray, sun protection, maps, and water are all musts.
