Is the Jeep Patriot Sport AWD?
I’ve always wanted to buy a Jeep and I found a good deal online for a Jeep Patriot Sport. I want all-wheel drive (AWD), but I’m not sure if this is an option. Does the Jeep Patriot Sport have AWD?

Like the rest of the Jeep lineup, the
Jeep Patriot Sport
is not AWD, but it does offer four-wheel drive (4WD). While AWD is always engaged, 4WD on Jeeps is manually turned on by the driver. This gives the Patriot Sport off-road capability when needed.
Cheaper versions of the Jeep Patriot Sport only come with rear-wheel drive. These models aren’t as off-road capable, but if you’re staying on the pavement, it can save you thousands of dollars on a used model.
The other major decision is whether you want the 158-hp, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine or the available 172-hp, 2.4-liter four-cylinder. The 2.4-liter obviously provides more power, but the 2.0-liter provides a slight edge on fuel economy (1 mpg more combined).
